DHAKA, March 19, 2026 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has undertaken comprehensive and special security measures across the country to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.

As part of the preparations, Acting Director General of RAB, Colonel Iftekhar Ahmed, visited the National Eidgah and Gabtoli Bus Terminal on Thursday to inspect the overall security arrangements, according to a press release of the force.

RAB officials said intelligence surveillance has been significantly strengthened nationwide.

Adequate personnel have been deployed in all operational areas, supported by control rooms, striking forces, foot and mobile patrols, vehicle scanners, observation posts, check posts, and CCTV monitoring systems.

Special multi-layered security arrangements have been put in place at the National Eidgah in the capital to ensure safe Eid congregations.

Similar measures have been extended to major Eidgahs across the country, including Sholakia Eidgah and Dinajpur Boro Eidgah, with security sweeping and enhanced surveillance.

To facilitate safe travel for homebound passengers, RAB has intensified monitoring at key transport hubs such as bus terminals, railway stations, launch terminals, and ferry ghats.

Authorities warned that strict legal action will be taken against any irregularities, including overcharging or ticket manipulation.

Additionally, the RAB Cyber Monitoring Team is conducting round-the-clock online surveillance to prevent the spread of rumors, misinformation, or provocative content related to Eid.

The RAB expressed optimism that with coordinated efforts and public cooperation, Eid celebrations across the country will remain festive, safe, and orderly.
