
CHATTOGRAM, March 22, 2026 (BSS): State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs, Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, today announced a goal for zero tolerance in stamping out corruption in the Land Ministry within next six months.
He emphasized that reducing human cash transactions through automation and e-services will immensely help control corruption.
Mir Helal made these remarks while meeting with journalists and party leaders on the second day of Eid.
The State Minister for Land, Mir Helal, announced that the ministry is implementing measures to enhance automation, introduce e-payments, and eliminate direct cash transactions in offices.
A comprehensive e-pay system has been successfully implemented in the Hathazari Land Office in Chattogram, where cash transactions are no longer accepted.
The minister expressed disappointment over the lack of land services in every union of Chattogram and assured that the government is striving to extend this service to all unions in the region. Furthermore, he mentioned that reform initiatives are underway in collaboration with the Law Ministry and other relevant ministries.
Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, a firm stance will be taken against corruption, and practical measures will be put in place at the grassroots level.
He emphasized that through well-thought-out reform initiatives, the Land Ministry can be turned into a transparent, citizen- centric, and corruption-free organization.
Former Minister Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin, father of State Minister Mir Helal, was also present .
