EC urges postal voters to cast their votes properly for Sherpur-3, Bogura-6

DHAKA, March 30, 2026 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) has requested voters who registered for postal voting through the BD Mobile App for the Sherpur-3 and Bogura-6 elections to submit their postal ballots to the nearest post office without delay after scanning the QR code and exercising their franchise.

This information was conveyed in a message from the EC today. Salim Ahmad Khan, Team Leader of the 'OCV-SDI' project related to expatriate voter registration, provided the information.

The EC said, "The esteemed voters of the 13th National Parliament election for the Sherpur-3 constituency and the Bogura-6 by-election are hereby informed that after receiving the postal ballot, please scan the QR code, exercise your voting rights, and then submit it to the nearest post office without delay."

According to the EC, voting for the vacant seat of Bogura-6 and the Sherpur-3 constituency under the 13th National Parliament will be held on April 9.

Polling in Sherpur-3 was cancelled following the death of a valid candidate.

Besides, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman -- who secured victory in Bogura- 6 and Dhaka-17 in the 13th national parliamentary election -- formally given up his Bogura-6 parliamentary seat.
