DHAKA, May 1, 2026 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain (Kaikobad) visited Kurmitola General Hospital in the capital last night to inquire about the health condition of an ailing Hajj pilgrim.

During the visit, the minister spoke with the hospital director, attending physicians and family members of the patient. He directed the hospital authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the pilgrim.

The Hajj pilgrim, Golam Mostafa, 74, became ill while on his way to the Hajj camp along with his wife for performing the pilgrimage.

He was taken to the camp's medical centre after arriving in an unconscious state. On-duty doctors there found his blood sugar level high and referred him to Kurmitola General Hospital for further treatment. His condition remains unchanged.

Director of the Dhaka Hajj Office, Lokman Hossain, said the pilgrim's scheduled Hajj flight at 9:10 pm tonight remains uncertain, and a final decision will be taken based on medical advice.
