PIROJPUR, May 1, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahammad Sohel Monzoor today said the government has taken various steps to enhance the skills of workers. 

“As part of this initiative, skilled workers will be developed through vocational institutes. This skilled workforce will contribute to earning foreign remittances by going abroad,” he said while speaking as chief guest at a discussion marking the historic May Day here.

Earlier in the morning, leaders and activists of various labor organizations gathered at the Town Club ground in the town to mark the day. Later, at 9:30 AM, a procession was brought out from Krishnachura Mor that ended at the Upazila Parishad premises. 

State Minister Ahammad Sohel Monzoor, Police Super Mohammad Manjur Ahmed Siddiqui, District Council Administrator Principal Alamgir Hossain, Additional District Commissioner (General) Alauddin Bhuiyan Jony, District Sramik Dal President Abdus Salam Baten, and leaders from various organizations joined the procession.
