Korea’s joint delegation pays courtesy call on RU VC

RAJSHAHI, May 13, 2026 (BSS) - A joint delegation from Korea’s King Sejong Institute Foundation and Songgok University paid a courtesy call on and held a discussion with Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University (RU) Professor Md. Faridul Islam today.

The delegation was led by Jeonghwan Jeon, Director of the Office of International Affairs at the King Sejong Institute Foundation.

During the exchange held in the conference room of Administration Building-1, the establishment of a King Sejong Institute at RU was discussed. 

The delegation exchanged views on promoting Korean language and culture education among RU students, expanding academic collaboration, and exploring possibilities for cultural exchange.

 It was expressed that if the proposed King Sejong Institute is established, students will gain new opportunities for higher education and employment in South Korea alongside Korean language learning.

The vice-chancellor welcomed the initiative and noted the university’s interest in expanding international cooperation. 

He stated that such initiatives will play an important role in enhancing the global skills of students. 

The delegation members highlighted the role of the King Sejong Institute in promoting Korean language and culture worldwide. 

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed optimism about future cooperation and the establishment of a King Sejong Institute at RU.

RU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Mohammad Main Uddin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Moha Farid Uddin Khan, Registrar Professor Iftikharul Alam Masud and Director of the Institute of Office and Other Languages Professor Masud Akhtar were present at the event, among others. 

Director of the Office of International Affairs Professor Muhammad Sajjadur Rahim, Assistant Director Professor Md. Atiqul Islam, and other concerned officials were also present.
