CCC Mayor inaugurates Tk 6-crore educational infrastructure projects

CHATTOGRAM, May 13, 2026 (BSS) - Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain today inaugurated two projects worth Tk 6.15 crore for the development of educational infrastructure in the city's Chawkbazar area.
 
The two projects include the development of Kapasgola City Corporation Women's College Road in Ward No. 16 under Chawkbazar and the vertical expansion of Kapasgola City Corporation Women's College from the second to the fifth floors.
 
The mayor inaugurated the projects at a function held on the college campus, followed by the annual prize-giving ceremony, fresher reception and farewell programme.

Addressing the function, the mayor emphasized the importance of infrastructural development in improving the quality of education. He said the expansion of the college road and academic building would help create a better learning environment for students.
 
The building expansion project has been undertaken at a cost of Tk 5.08 crore. Under the project, a total of 20 classrooms will be added, with five classrooms on each floor covering around 6,000 square feet.
 
Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chattogram, Professor Abdullah Al Mamun Chowdhury, attended the programme as the special guest.
 
CCC Chief Education Officer Dr Kissinger Chakma presided over the function, while Principal of Kapasgola City Corporation Women's College Noor Banu Chowdhury delivered the welcome speech.
