
DHAKA, May 30, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today distributed clothes and dry food among the poor and destitute at 16 spots in Dhaka city marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
The Prime Minister started the programme at 11:25 am today from the T&T High School grounds at Manik Mia Avenue.
He also distributed food among the poor people at Shyamoli Square, Government Bangla College area, Pallabi Metro Station, ECB Chattar, Kuril Bishwa Road, Fuji Trade Center, Jorpukur Playground, Banglabazar, Jatrabari, Jurain and Dhanmondi areas.

The Prime Minister distributed clothes among the poor and destitute in Dhanmondi area at 5:40 pm, according to the Prime Minister's Press Wing.
In the afternoon, he participated in a separate programme organised by the BNP's affiliated organisations in front of BNP Nayapaltan office and distributed food and clothes there.
At 11:00 am, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman first paid tribute to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman by placing a wreath at his grave in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.
Later, the BNP chairman paid tribute to the party's founder along with members of the party's standing committee and senior leaders.
In the evening, a milad mahfil was organised at the Prime Minister's residence at Gulshan Avenue. The Prime Minister's family, relatives and friends participated in it.
Begum Khaleda Zia's younger brother Shamim Eskander, sister Selima Islam and other family members were also present at the milad mahfil.
PM’s Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon said a milad and doa mahfil was held at the Prime Minister's residence to seek the eternal peace of the departed soul of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his family members, relatives and close friends participated in it, he said.
Officials of the Prime Minister's Office, SSF and PGR members also participated in the milad mahfil.
