One more die of measles-like symptoms

DHAKA, June 16, 2026 (BSS) - One more person died from suspected measles 
across the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General 
of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 1,142 new suspected measles cases were reported 
nationwide, while 136 confirmed patients were admitted to different 
hospitals, a DGHS press release said.

It said a total of 87,929 suspected measles patients have been reported since 
March 15. 

Of them, 72,405 have been admitted to different hospitals, while 68,782 have 
recovered and been discharged after receiving treatment.

Since March 15, a total of 564 children have died from suspected measles 
across the country. Meanwhile, confirmed measles-related deaths stood at 93 
during the same period.
