Govt committed to building discrimination-free, non-communal society: Afroza

MANIKGANJ, July 16, 2026 (BSS) - Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam today said the government of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is committed to building a discrimination-free, non-communal and peaceful country.

"The government is continuing its efforts to implement development programmes aimed at improving people's welfare," she said.

The minister made the remarks while inaugurating the Ratha Yatra festival of the Hindu community at Sree Sree Kalimandir in Manikganj district town as the chief guest.

Administrator of Manikganj Zila Parishad Advocate Jamilur Rashid Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mohammad Ali, Additional Superintendent of Police Abdullah Al Mamun and Public Prosecutor Advocate AFM Nurtaj Alam Bahar, among others, attended the programme.
