Rajshahi Chhatra Dal holds remembrance meeting for July-August martyrs

RAJSHAHI, July 16, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi Metropolitan Chhatra Dal today organised a remembrance meeting to pay tribute to the martyrs, the injured and all those who took part in the July-August Mass Uprising.

The programme was held this afternoon at the Rajshahi College auditorium with Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP President Mamun-or-Rashid Mamun attending as the chief guest.

Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator and Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman Riton delivered the keynote speech, while Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr S. M. Abdur Razzak also addressed the meeting.

Rajshahi Development Authority Chairman and Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP Vice-President Abul Kalam Azad Sweet attended the programme as a special guest.

The meeting was presided over by Rajshahi Metropolitan Chhatra Dal Convener Rakin Raihan Robin and conducted by its Member Secretary Imdadul Haque Milan.

The speakers said the sacrifices of the martyrs of the July-August Mass Uprising would remain an enduring chapter in the nation's history. They also reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the martyrs' ideals and establishing democracy, justice and human rights.

Political leaders, student leaders, teachers, social figures and a large number of students attended the programme.
