DHAKA, Jan 22, 2025 (BSS) -Detective Branch (DB) wing of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested one of the accused in the case over the sensational murder of Manjurul Islam Babu alias 'Blade Babu' in the city.

The arrestee was identified as Md Murad, 27, a member of 'Musa-Rajan Terrorist Group' in city's Pallabi area, said a DMP press release here today.
 
With the help of technology, a smart team of DB-Mirpur Division conducted a raid in the Ceramic Road area under Pallabi Police Station around 11.50 pm on Monday and nabbed him.

DB seized two motorcycles used in the murder from Murad's possession.

According to DB-Mirpur Division sources, the victim Manjurul Islam Babu, a member of Terrorist Mamun Group in Pallabi, was seriously injured in indiscriminate stabbing and beating by his opponent centering dominance in the area and previous enmity on the new road on the west side of Bangabandhu College under Pallabi Police Station around 3.30 pm on January 20.

Babu was later taken to Kurmitola General Hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead, the release added.

The victim's wife Rabeya Akhter Mim filed a murder case with Pallabi Police Station on January 21.
