DHAKA, Jan 22, 2025 (BSS) – The Appellate Division (AD) of the Supreme Court (SC) today suspended the bail of the journalist couple Shakil Ahmed and Farzana Rupa granted by the High Court (HC) in a garment worker Rubel murder case.
The regular bench of the AD of Justice Md. Rezaul Haque passed the order and fixed February 10 next for hearing.
Additional Attorney General Barrister Aneek R. Haque, who moved for the state, confirmed the development while lawyer Mamun Mahbub represented the accused in the hearing.
The HC earlier on January 20 granted the bail for the journalist couple. The state later filed a petition seeking suspension of the bail.
