DB arrests two with 10,000 free textbooks

DHAKA, Jan 23, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested two members of a syndicate involved in hoarding and illegally selling textbooks intended for free distribution to primary and secondary school students. 

The detainees were identified as Sirajul Islam, 55 and M Delwar Hossain, 56. 

"Two trucks filled with 10,000 books were also seized during the drive at Banglabazar in the city," Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Division of the DMP told BSS this afternoon.

Legal action is under progress in this connection, he added.
