DHAKA, May 25, 2025 (BSS) – Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) Chairman Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan Manju has urged the caretaker government to hold national elections by February 5 next year, emphasizing that any delay could hinder much-needed reforms.

Talking to reporters after a meeting with the Chief Adviser this evening, Manju said, “We have said to the Chief Adviser that the election should be held by February 5. The government must begin preparations for the polls within this timeframe.”

He cautioned against the Chief Adviser stepping down prematurely, saying such a move would be detrimental to the country.

“If you (the Chief Adviser) relinquish your responsibilities now, it won't benefit the nation. It will only push back both reforms and the election process,” he said.

Highlighting a decline in political unity among the youth, Manju stressed the need for inclusive reforms.

“The unity of students has been destroyed. For making reforms meaningful, public participation is essential. We must rebuild unity and foster greater tolerance among all parties,” he pointed out.
