DHAKA, May 26, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today issued a travel ban on former
Habiganj-4 lawmaker Syed Sayedul Haque Suman and his wife Shammi Akter over
graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the
order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC in its plea said an investigation is going on against Suman for
amassing illegal wealth and the former lawmaker can flee the country and hand
over his movable and immovable properties to evade justice.

"To stop Suman and his wife from leaving the country, a travel ban should be
imposed on them immediately," the plea said.

Meanwhile, the same court today imposed another travel ban on Dhaka Electric
Supply Company Limited (DESCO) Engineer Jagdish Chandra Mondal and his wife
Sabita Mondal.
