DHAKA, May 26, 2025 (BSS) – Police in separate raids in Diabari and Ashulia areas on Sunday arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in the sensational clueless murder of Anwar Hossain Sikder, owner of Raida bus depot in the capital’s Turag area.
 
The detainees are Md. Sabuj Fakir (28), Kalam (22) and Md. Shakil (18).
 
Turag police arrested the trio in separate raids in the capital’s Ashulia and Diabari areas on Sunday, police said.
 
Police also seized an iron pipe used in the murder following information from the detainees during the preliminary interrogation.
 
Anwar Hossain Sikder (53), owner of Raida bus depot,  located in Diabari metro roundabout area under Turag police station, left his house for the depot around 9:00 am on January 17, 2025, police said.

On January 18, 2025, Anwar's wife Shiuli Akhter filed a general diary with Turag police station as her husband did not return .
 
During the initial investigation of the GD, police came to know that Anwar was killed due to a dispute over a business transaction and identified the killers with the help of technology, Turag police said.
 
Following information, Turag police conducted a raid in the Ashulia area and arrested Kalam and Shakil around 2:30pm on Sunday.
 
 Later, on the basis of the information extracted from them, Sabuj was arrested from the Diyabari area of Uttara around 3:30 pm on the same day.
 
 Turag police later recovered Anwar's almost decomposed body from under the ground adjacent to the north side of the Raida depot and east of the DESCO office at the Diyabari Metro roundabout.
 
The victim's family members arrived at the scene and identified Anwar's body.
 
The body was sent to the morgue of Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital for autopsy.
 
The victim Anwar's wife Shiuli Akhter filed a murder case against the arrestees and six others with Turag Police Station on May 25, 2025.

On January 17, 2025, around 11:00 am, the detainees and some of their accomplices premeditatedly killed Anwar Hossain Sikder inside the Raida bus depot due to a dispute over the purchase and sale of Raida buses.
 
They first hit the victim on the head with an iron pipe and then stabbed him in the throat with a sharp knife, police said, adding that after the murder, they buried the body of the deceased Anwar   near the Raida bus depot.
