DHAKA, May 27, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on the
Chairman and Managing Director of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) Mostafa
Kamal over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the
order allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body, in its plea, said there are allegations of embezzling
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of different banks by Suchona
Foundation Chairperson Saima Wazed and others. It has already formed a seven-
member probe team to investigate allegations of causing loss of state funds
by abetting the implementation of political agendas against Sajeeb Wazed and
other members of Sheikh Hasina's family.

"Mostafa Kamal, who is also being probed over the same allegations, may try
to flee the country with his family. If he manages to succeed in leaving the
country, it can hamper the investigation. That is why a travel ban should be
imposed on him," the ACC plea added.
