Amu, Menon, Inu, 8 others shown arrested in fresh uprising cases

DHAKA, May 28, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today showed total 11 people including former ministers Amir Hossain Amu, Hasanul Haque Inu and Rashed Khan Menon, arrested in fresh cases lodged over crimes committed during July-August mass uprising.

The other arrestees are- Anisul Huq, Salman F Rahman, Qamrul Islam, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Atiqul Islam, Monirul Islam Monu, Jahangir Alam and Rajani Akter Tushi.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehera Mahbub passed the orders as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to show them arrested in the cases. Following the order, the court sent them back to jail.

Of the 11, Anisul Huq was shown arrested in one attempt to murder and one murder cases, Salman F Rahman in one attempt to murder case, Amu in one attempt to murder case, Inu and Menon in one attempt to murder case and two murder cases.

Besides, Palak was shown arrested in one attempt to murder and one murder case, Monu in two murder cases, Qamrul and Atiqul in one attempt to murder case and Jahangir and Tushi in one murder case. 

All the cases were filed with the Jatrabari Police Station.
