Subrata Bain, Molla Masud, 2 others remanded in arms case

DHAKA, May 28, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today placed listed terrorists and ‘seven star’ syndicate kingpin Subrata Bain and his close accomplice Molla Masud and two others on different terms of remand in a case lodged under arms act.

The two other remanded accused are underworld shooters Md Arafat Ibn Masud, 43, and MAS Sharif, 25.

Of the four, Subrata was placed on an eight-day remand, while Molla Masud and two others on a six-day remand each in the case.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain passed the order as police produced the four before the court and pleaded to place them on a 10-day remand each in the case.

Bangladesh Army   in a special operation on May 27 arrested four criminals including Subrata Bain and Molla Masud and seized five foreign made pistols and ammunition. Subrata Bain alias Fateh Ali and his associate Molla Masud alias Abu Russell Masud were arrested from Kushtia district on specific intelligence information. 

Following information extracted from the arrestees, the army personnel later arrested two close aides of Subrata Bain, shooters Arafat and Sharif from the capital’s Hatirjheel area.

During the operations, army team seized five foreign made pistols, 10 magazines, 53 rounds of ammunition and one satellite phone from their possessions. The arrestees were accused in numerous criminal cases that include murder, extortion and sabotage.
