DHAKA, May 28, 2025 (BSS) – The leaders and activists of three associate bodies of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today made a strong call for taking steps for BNP Acting  Chairman Tarique Rahman’s return to the country.

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, and Swechchhasebak Dal organized the mammoth rally in front of the BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan.

The event marked a strong presence of youths chanting slogans like ‘Tarique Rahman Birer Beshe, Asbe Fire Bangladesh; Bangladesh er Pran, Tarique Rahman’ echoing the return of Tarique Rahman to the country.

Although the rally formally began at 3:30 PM, many BNP supporters and youth activists gathered at Nayapaltan and its surrounding areas since morning. The crowd remained compact until the event concluded at the evening with a virtual address by BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

Shakibur Rahman, who traveled from Ghatail of Tangail said, “In recent years, we’ve witnessed an authoritarianism regime. BNP has long been fighting to restore people’s rights. Tarique Rahman’s plans for engaging the youth in nation building activities have given us hope. The young generation is eagerly waiting for his return.”

During Tarique Rahman’s speech, a group of youths wearing yellow T-shirts and caps stood attentively near the stage, listening closely. Afterward, one of them commented, “No other party has a vision for unemployed youth like BNP.”

The youths said they came from Sylhet, specifically to join the rally.

Saif Ullah Saif, Sports Secretary of Dhaka University’s Chhatra Dal said, “BNP has made immense sacrifices for democracy, and Tarique Rahman has provided crucial leadership.”

“His return is essential for fulfilling the struggle for democracy, and the youth are eagerly waiting for that moment,” he added.
