8 held with huge quantity of adulterated drugs at Bangshal

DHAKA, May 29, 2025 (BSS) - In a joint operation of Bangladesh Army and police apprehended eight people along with a huge quantity of adulterated drugs in the capital's Bangshal area on Wednesday night. 

The arrested are Md. Sumon Rabbi (40), Md. Akram Hossain alias Akmal (45), Md. Amin (45), Md. Osman Gani (30), Md. Raju Ahmed (51), Md. Abdul Noor (35) and Md. Ibrahim alias Sumit (20), said a police press release. The name of another detainee was not mentioned as he was a minor.

They were arrested in a series of raids at Satrawja Agasadek Road under Bangshal Police Station on Wednesday night, it said.

Ten mobile phone sets, a motorcycle, 1095 bottles of various types of adulterated medicines, 40 empty bottles, 88 packets of pasteurized flavored milk of 200 ml each and around Tk one lakh in cash were seized from their possessions. 

A case was registered under The Special Powers Act, 1974 with Bangshal Police Station in this connection.
