Travel ban on ex-SP Gazipur Shafiqul, his wife and daughters

DHAKA, May 29, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed travel ban on former Superintendent of Police (SP) Gazipur Kazi Shafiqul Alam, his wife Jinia Farjana and two daughters Kazi Aria Bente Shafiq and Kazi Anusha Bente Shafiq.

Kazi Shafiqul Alam is now attached with the office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, Mymensingh range.

Senior Special Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order following a petition submitted by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).

Deputy Director (DD), Public Relations of the ACC headquarters Aktarul Islam quoting the petition of the anti graft body said, there are many allegations of corruptions including acquiring crores of money against the former SP of Gazipur. 

The commission has already appointed an investigation officer to find out the corruptions of the SP, his wife and two daughters, the DD said adding that the accused persons may leave the country to avoid investigation at any time.

The ACC prayed for imposing the travel ban on the accused for the sake of the investigation to the court and the court after hearing on the petition imposed the ban.
