1,104 held in special drive across country

DHAKA, May 30, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested a total of 1,104 individuals in the last 24 hours during a special nationwide drive, including operations in the capital, seizing firearms and other weapons.

According to a media release from the Police Headquarters issued today, 671 of the apprehended individuals were wanted in various cases and outstanding warrant, while 433 were detained in connection with different criminal offenses.

During the operation, police recovered one revolver, two shotguns, four rounds of cartridges, one cleaver, four axes, one machete, and four locally made guns (LGs).

The release added that law enforcement agencies are continuing the special drive to curb crime, and legal proceedings are underway against those arrested.
