DHAKA, June 1, 2025 (BSS) - In a bid to ensure safe, smooth, and hassle-free rail travel during the Eid journey, mobile courts conducted special drives at major railway stations across the country on Saturday, the first day of the holiday rush.

Authorities concerned identified and penalized several ticketless passengers during the day-long operation. On-the-spot fines were collected to discourage illegal travel and maintain order on the railways.

At Dhaka's Kamalapur Railway Station, five cases were filed and a total of Taka 9,670 was collected in fines through mobile court proceedings.

Meanwhile, at Dhaka Airport Railway Station, one case was filed and Taka 1,150 was collected as fine.
