DHAKA, June 1, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today imposed a travel ban on former lawmaker of Gazipur-3 constituency Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, his wife Nigar Sultana Jhuma and brother Sakhawat Hossain over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea said the commission is probing allegations of amassing huge illegal wealth against Mohammad Iqbal Hossain and has already summoned him and the other accused to give their explanations.

“…but they did not appear on the scheduled time and date to give their statements. It is learned from the reliable sources that the accused may try to flee the country and travel ban should be imposed on them immediately,” it added.
