BGB detains 11 for illegally enter into Bangladesh from India

SHERPUR, June 1, 2025 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have detained 11 persons including women and children on Saturday on charge of entering illegally inside Bangladesh from Nalitabari border under Sherpur.

Members of BGB’s Ramchandrakura camp detained them from nearly 500 yards inside border pillar east of Panihata Mission of the bordering Nalitabari upazila and later they were handed over to Nalitabari police.
Police said a patrol team of Ramchandrakura BGB camp detained them while they were roaming in hilly areas near bordering Panihata mission area. 

The detainees were identified as Abul Kalam, 34, son of Sandar Molla, Alpana Khanam, 23, Imran Sheikh, 35, Rokeya Begum, 27, Rana Molla, 26, Nasrin Begum, 23, Irfan Molla, 5, Mst Lichi, 48 and Rubel Molla, 25.

Two mobile phones, Bangladeshi SIM card and Indian rupees were recovered from this possession.

A case has been filed against them as they have illegally entered into Bangladesh from India, said OC of Nalitabari Police Station.

The detainees were produced before the Sherpur district court today, he said.
