DHAKA, June 2, 2025 (BSS) - Chandpur district Awami League (AL) president and 
former mayor of the municipality Nasir Uddin Ahmed was arrested today from 
the capital city.

Dhaka District Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested Nasir Uddin from his 
daughter's house in Shantinagar area of the city around 7.30 am, said 
Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and Public Relations 
Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), this afternoon.

Later, he was taken to the DB office.

He has been arrested as a suspected accused in a murder case filed in the 
Kadamtali Police Station last year during the student-people movement.
