Inu, Kamal, 2 others shown arrested in fresh murder cases

DHAKA, June 25, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today showed four people, including former information minister Hasanul Haque Inu and former state minister for industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder, arrested in fresh cases lodged over crimes committed during the July-August Mass Uprising.

The other arrestees are former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak and former deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Md Shahidullah.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dilruba Afroz Tithi passed the orders as police produced the four before the court and pleaded to show them arrested in the cases. The court after that sent them back to jail.

Of the four, Inu and Palak were shown arrested in Ranjan Miah killing case filed with Rampura Police Station, Kamal Majumder was shown arrested in schoolboy Shahriar Hasan Alvi killing case filed with Mirpur Model Police Station, while Shahidullah was shown arrested in Shamim Miah killing case lodged with Bhatara Police Station.
