Two held for embezzling Tk 2.6 crore

DHAKA, June 26, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested two persons from city's Banani area for their alleged involvement in embezzling money from a man in Dinajpur.

The arrestees were Md Safiqul Islam and Sipar Ahmed.

The PBI also recovered four mobile phones, a vehicle, eight mobile phone SIM cards, voice recorder, stamp papers and 13 cheque books from their possessions.

In a press release issued today, the PBI said they embezzled Taka 2.6 crore from Md Amin Shah, owner of an auto rice mill and MH Brick Field of Chili Bandar of Dinajpur recently.

A case was filed at Banani Thana in this connection.
