DHAKA, June 27, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a drive arrested a drug peddler from the city's Jatrabari area early today and recovered 4,000 Yaba tablets from his possession.

"Acting on a tip-off, a team of the DB's Gulshan division conducted the raid around 5.55 am in the Matuail area in Jatrabari and arrested Md Joynul Abedin from in front of Quality Timber and Saw Mills," a DMP release said here today.

The arrested person is a member of a drug peddling gang and was selling the contraband Yaba tablets in different parts of the capital for long, the DB sources said.

Filing of cases in this connection is underway, the sources added.
