DHAKA, June 28, 2025 (BSS) - In a bid to promote environmental sustainability, the Dhaka North City Unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party
(BNP) has announced a plan to plant over 20,000 Neem trees across the Pallabi-Rupnagar area here as per the directive of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

The announcement came during a tree plantation campaign organised by the Jubo Dal of Ward 92 in Rupnagar, where Aminul Haque, convener of Dhaka North City Unit BNP and Central Secretary for Sports Affairs, attended the programme as the chief guest.

Speaking at the event, he stated that the tree plantation initiative will begin in full swing immediately after July 3, following the conclusion of the
party's ongoing membership renewal campaign.

The drive will include planting Neem saplings along roadsides and in residential areas across every ward.

"All affiliated and associate bodies of the BNP including Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and JASAS will actively participate in this green campaign," he added.

Emphasizing BNP's commitment to social responsibility beyond politics, Haque said, "There is no alternative to tree plantation in tackling climate change and environmental disasters. We aim to build a greener, more livable
Bangladesh for our future generations."

He further remarked, "BNP's politics has always been centered around public welfare. We are committed to a humane and people-centric approach in all our programmes and policies."
