DHAKA, June 28, 2025 (BSS) - Islami Andoloan Bangladesh (IAB) Ameer Chormonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim has demanded representation in the parliament based on proportional representation of votes.

He made the demand at a rally organized by the IAB at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital demanding national elections based on reforms, justice and PR methods.

He said the popular aspiration of the July Uprising was to protect the country from fascist and to build a Bangladesh free of discrimination.

"To do this, we must ensure that the opinions of all citizens of the country are reflected in the governance of the state. For this, the PR (Proportional Representative) system is the only solution," he added.

The Chormonai Pir said, "The votes of all the people of the country are of equal value. Arrangements must be made so that no one's vote is devalued.
