DHAKA, June 29, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed today said all democratic political parties must stand together in the interest of the country.

“We may have differences of opinion on some issues, but for the sake of the country, all democratic political parties must stand together for the interest of the country. We must realize the dreams of the martyrs’ after coming to power,” he said.

Rizvi said these at a press conference at the BNP’s Nayapaltan central office here.

About the alleged rape incident of Cumilla’s Muradnagar, Rizvi claimed that an Awami League leader raped a woman in Cumilla and shifted its liability to BNP.

"Such incidents are not happening suddenly, they are trying to create a network as they have a lot of illegal money in hand. They want to destabilize the country by spending that money,” he said.

He urged the government to find them to bring them to justice. “Such incidents are happening because of the government's slow action," he said.

Rizvi demanded exemplary punishment of the culprits of the rape incident that took place in Muradnagar.

BNP Joint Secretaries General Advocate Abdus Salam Azad, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie and BNP Mass Education Affairs Secretary Dr. Morshed Hasan Khan, among others, were present at the time.
