Three remanded in case over firing on cops

DHAKA, June 29, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed three people on a 
four-day remand each in a case lodged over firing on policemen beside 
Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital on June 20 last.

The remanded accused are-- Bappi, Abu Khalid Saifullah and Kamrul Hasan.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan passed the order as police 
produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place them on a 10-day 
remand.

According to the case documents, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of Police's 
Lalbagh Division stopped the vehicle of drug traders at around 1am on June 20 
beside Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital. At the time, the accused opened 
fire on the policemen, injuring ASI Atik Hasan and constable Sujon.

DB sub-inspector (SI) Mithun Uddin Khan filed the case on the same day, 
bringing allegation of attempt to murder against the trio.
