DNCC provides scholarships to underprivileged students

DHAKA, June 29, 2025 (BSS)- Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) today 
distributed education and merit scholarships to underprivileged and 
meritorious students studying in government-recognized primary, secondary and 
higher secondary educational institutions in the DNCC area.

Moreover, children of insolvent DNCC employees also received financial 
assistance.

DNCC Administrator Mohammad Ejaz was present in the scholarship distribution 
ceremony as the chief guest held in the conference room of Nagar Bhaban here 
with DNCC's Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Asaduzzaman in the chair.

The DNCC Chief Mohammad Ejaz said, "To build a healthy, just and sustainable 
city, it is essential to educate our future generation. DNCC always stands 
beside its students and this support will continue in future."

DNCC is not just working on infrastructure but is also sincerely committed to 
social welfare and human resource development. Providing assistance to poor 
and meritorious students is part of this commitment, he noted.

This initiative will create an environment conducive to the mental 
development of students, Ejaz said, adding: "Our pledge is to provide 
scholarships from the most marginalized levels." 

According to the DNCC Education and Merit Scholarship Policy 2017, a total of 
Taka 5,86,800 was given as scholarships to 69 students in various categories.

The scholarship recipients and their guardians applauded DNCC's initiative 
and expressed their hope for its continuation.

Senior DNCC officials, representatives from educational institutions, 
guardians and students were present, among others, at the event.
