CHAPAINAWABGANJ, June 30, 2025 - Import and export activities at the Sonamasjid Land Port (SLP) here in the district resumed today after a two-day suspension, following the withdrawal of a central strike programme initiated by NBR Sanskar Oikya Parishad.

SLP officials and employees returned to work on time this morning, enabling the full restoration of operations, while trucks carrying goods from India were seen entering the port, the country's second-largest land port, by the afternoon.

Mainul Islam, Manager of Panama Port Link Limited, the port's operating company, confirmed the resumption, saying that all import-export activities between Bangladesh and India restarted today as normal after two days of complete shutdown.

The SLP was fully inactive on Saturday and Sunday due to the nationwide strike called by NBR Sanskar Oikya Parishad in support of their reform demands.

As a result, no trucks entered from India, and no goods were exported during that time.
