Three more police officers suspended

DHAKA, July 1, 2025(BSS) - The Home Ministry today suspended three more police officers, including former deputy inspector general (DIG) of police in Chattogram range Nure Alam Mina, due to their long absence in work stations.

Three separate notifications issued from police-1 wing of the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry said that those police officers, after the fall of last Awami League government on August 5 last year, went into hiding without taking any leave. They were suspended as per the law as they remained absent for a long time in the work stations, the notifications added.

According to a notification signed by the secretary of the ministry Md Nasimul Gani, the former DIG Chattogram Nure Alam Mina was transferred to Sharda Police Academy as its DIG on February 9 this year but he did not join there. As a result, he has been suspended from the service due to his unauthorized absence from the work station. 

According to another notification, the former deputy commissioner (DC) of the Detective Branch (DB) Manosh Kumar Podder was transferred to the Barisal range DIG office on October 18 last year but he did not join work. Since then, he has been remaining absent from the office and went into hiding.

Another notification of the ministry also suspended Additional Superintendent of Police (Adl. SP) of Industrial Police Gazipur unit-2 Md Rahmat Ullah Chowdhury as he remained absent from his office since February 10 last. 

Earlier, the Home Ministry on June 26 suspended another 13 police officers including three superintendents of police (SPs), eight additional SPs and two assistant superintendents of police (ASPs) from their services due to their unauthorized absence at their work stations for long time.
