NLASO realises Tk 265.76cr compensation for insolvent litigants

DHAKA, July 1, 2025 (BSS) - The National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) has collected compensation of Taka 265.76 crore 42,829 for insolvent litigants.

This information has been revealed in a report published in the website of NLASO.

This report provides detailed information on legal assistance provided by NLASO from 2009 to May 2025.

It said that under the organization, Taka 259,13,16,614 has been collected as compensation for insolvent litigants through the Legal Aid Offices in 64 districts of the country and Taka 6,63,26,215 through the Dhaka and Chattogram Labour Legal Aid Cells.

This service has been provided at government expense under the 'Legal Aid Act' with the aim of providing legal aid to financially indigent and incompetent people seeking justice in the country. 

The activities of the National Legal Aid Services Organization are carried out under the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
