2 foreign pistols, ammunition seized over firing DB men at Fakirapool

DHAKA, July 1, 2025 (BSS) – Police on Monday seized two foreign pistols and ammunition used in firing gunshots at the Detective Branch (DB) personnel at the capital’s Fakirapool area from Savar.  
 
A team of DB seized two 7.65mm foreign pistols, three magazines, 67 rounds of bullet and one handcuff from a rented house of a detained top listed criminal Bappi at Savar Radio Colony area following his information extracted during the interrogation, said a police press release.
     
Police, earlier arrested three drug peddlers with a private car and contraband yaba tablets for their suspected link with the shooting that injured three DB personnel in the capital's Fakirapool area.
 
Three members of DB suffered bullet injuries as suspected drug traffickers fired gunshots at them when they were in an anti-drug raid in Fakirapool in the wee hours of June 18 last.
 
In the firing, assistant commissioner (AC)  Soeb Kabir sustained bullet wounds in his hand while assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Atik Hasan in his abdomen and constable Sujan in his leg.
 
AC Soeb received first aid while the remaining two were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.
 
A case was filed in this connection.
