DHAKA, JULY 13, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today granted bail to actress Apu Biswas in a case lodged over alleged attempt to murder one Enamul Haque in the city's Bhatara area during the July-August Mass Uprising.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mustafizur Rahman passed the order as the actress surrendered before the court and pleaded for bail.

Apu Biswas had earlier secured six weeks of anticipatory bail in the case from the High Court on June 2.

According to the case documents, Enamul along with other Anti-Discrimination Movement campaigners took to the street on July 19, 2024. Subsequently, shots were fired on the agitating people and Enamul got shot on his leg. He underwent treatment for his injuries and later filed the case against 283 people, including the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
