LAKSHIMPUR, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Joint-Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie today said a national unity government will be formed with all political parties involved in the anti-fascist movement.

He said,“ People's trust and faith in Tarique Rahman are increasing day by day and he will lead the government. Under his leadership, the people of the country are united today.”

Annie made the remarks while attending the conference of Paurasava BNP at the Girls' High School ground in the district.

Annie said, it was not an easy task for the party to be guided from abroad by Tarique Rahman and to unite all political parties, the people and BNP leaders and activists from the grassroots to the central level against Hasina. 

He, however, noted that this was made possible under Tarique Rahman’s leadership.

“The one who can properly lead Bangladesh in future is Tarique Rahman and that’s  why we are moving forward with a future plan under his leadership."

He also said that in the last 17 years, thousands of crores of taka have been embezzled and there have been incidents of disappearances, murders, and torture.

All these misdeeds have occurred under Hasina's leadership, he said adding, "We are not afraid of Hasina's threats…We have been victims of repeated imprisonment and oppression, yet we have not bowed to Hasina." 

"Therefore, BNP cannot do the things that Hasina is doing. We must always remember the fascist Hasina; she cannot be forgotten. After the July uprising, Tarique Rahman who nurtures Zia's dream and thinks of working in Khaleda Zia's uncompromising style, has started that work. Everyone must remain united to face all conspiracies."

Adviser to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia Abul Khair Bhuiyan was present as the chief guest at the event.
