Japanese volunteer nurse in Dhaka awarded Foreign Minister’s Commendation

DHAKA, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) – The government of Japan has conferred its prestigious “Foreign Minister’s Commendation 2025” upon Reiko Kobayashi, a Japanese volunteer nurse serving in Bangladesh, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to promoting international cooperation in the country.  

Japan Embassy in Dhaka today announced that Kobayashi, who is currently working at the Yamagata Dhaka Friendship Hospital, has been selected as one of the recipients of this year’s commendation.

The Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation is awarded annually to individuals and organizations for their exceptional achievements in fostering mutual understanding and strengthening friendly relations between Japan and other countries.

The embassy said Kobayashi’s dedicated service in the health sector has helped enhance people-to-people ties while contributing to the deepening of Japan–Bangladesh friendship.
