MYMENSINGH, Sept 1, 2025 (BSS) - BNP standing committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain has said no conspiracy will succeed against the people of the country, noting that people are the actual source of power.

"Those who are arrogant, threat of authoritarianism and think of themselves as the supreme must remember that absolute power belongs only to the Almighty Allah," he said as chief guest while addressing an event, marking the BNP's 47th founding anniversary, held at the Town Hall Mukta Mancha here in the city this afternoon.

Dr Zahid said no matter how much conspiracy there is from home and abroad to deter the national election slated for February next, the democracy-loving people of Bangladesh will thwart it.

The future version of Bangladesh will belong to everyone and built in light of 31 point charter, a brain child of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, he said.

"We should be proud of BNP. Because the BNP established democracy in the country and will do so in the days to come. It is not a past-oriented party, but a future-oriented one . . . BNP is a party of patriots, a party of freedom fighters and the party that stands by the people," he continued.

Indicating fallen fascist Awami League, he said it introduced a one-party regime in the past by taking away the rights of the people, selling the country's interests.

City BNP convener Prof. AKM Shafiqul Islam presided over the rally. Among others, BNP joint secretary general Syed Emran Saleh Prince, co-organizing secretaries Abu Wahab Akand and Shariful Alam, city leaders, North and South district BNP and top leaders of its affiliated organisations also spoke.

Later, a mammoth followed the rally, parading different important roads in the city.
