95 percent people want election: Bulu

SYLHET, Sept 1, 2025 (BSS) – BNP vice-chairman and former minister Barkat Ullah Bulu today said about 95 percent people of the country want election.

“The nation has boarded on the electoral train and there is no scope to get down”, he said.

The BNP leader said this as the chief guest while addressing in a pre-rally gathering at registry ground here marking the founding anniversary of the BNP.

Bulu said Jamaat has imported Proportional Representation (PR) in the country after August 5. “Jamaat is saying that the election will not be held without PR. But, the real fact is that the people of this country do not know what is PR system,” he said.

The people want a free fair election in the country, he added.

Bulu said the sacrifice of the people in for one and half decade would be successful if we can ensure a free, fair election as well as good governance and justice in the country.

BNP chairperson’s adviser Dr Enamul Huq Chowdhury and Ariful Huq Chowdhury also spoke on th occasion as special guest while Sylhet city BNP acting president Rezaul Hasan Koyes Lodi was in the chair.
