DHAKA, Sept 2, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy today alleged that a conspiracy is underway to deprive people of their right to vote.

"A conspiracy is afoot to rob citizens of their voting rights. Everyone must remain vigilant against the anti-election and anti-democracy forces," he said.

Gayeshwar made the remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a week-long tree-planting and cleaning programme organized by Dhaka South BNP at Maniknagar to mark the 47th founding anniversary of the BNP.

The senior BNP leader said, "Various demands are being made to BNP even though we are not in power. If entrusted with running the country, BNP as a people's party will address all those demands."

He said, "Over the past 17 years, a crocodile named Awami League has been allowed to thrive by digging canals. But if BNP comes to power, it will create a flow of clear water instead of a crocodile."
