102 held in special operation over stabbing cop at Adabar

DHAKA, Sept 2, 2025 (BSS) - Police in an overnight special operation have held 102 teenagers following a stab attack on a policeman with a knife in the capital's Adabar area. 
 
Around 10:00 pm on Monday, some local miscreants attacked policemen when a police patrol team went on an operation to rescue a victim in the Sunibid Housing area under Adabor Police Station, said a police press release. 
 
At that time, the criminals seriously injured a police constable Al Amin with sharp weapons and vandalized a police vehicle, the release said.
 
Police later carried out an overnight special operation at different parts of Adabar Police Station and held 102 suspects, it also said.
 
During the operation, 25 sticks, 12 samurai swords, 11 rods and two motorcycles were seized, it added. 
 
Police filed a case with Adabar Police Station accusing 14 people in this connection, said a police officer of the police station requesting anonymity.  
 
Five of them were arrested in the case while the remaining others were held under the DMP ordinance.  
 
The five arrestees are Md. Mizan Matabbar, 28, Md. Rabbi, 21, Md. Rabiul Islam alias Robi Mondal, 50, Jewel Sardar, 26, and Sabuj Mia, 26.
