Drug peddler held with heroin worth TK 1.20cr in capital

DHAKA, Sept 2, 2025 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested a drug peddler with heroin worth over TK 1.20 crore from the capital’s Hatirjheel area in the small hours of today.
 
 The detainee has been identified as Md. Ujjal Ali (47).
 
A team of DB of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Ujjal in a raid at Madhubagh area under Hatirjheel Police Station around 03:05 am today, said a police press release.
 
At that time, 1.200 kilogram of heroin was seized from his possession. The estimated value of the seized heroin is TK 1.2 crore.
 
The detained Ujjal Ali is an active member of an organized drug trafficking gang.
 
The release said Ujjal has been collecting various drugs including heroin from the border areas of Chapainawabganj and Satkhira for long and selling those   in different areas of Dhaka Metropolitan City.
 
The arrestee has been wanted in  14 cases in different police stations including Dhaka Metropolitan City.
