Golam Parwar mourns death of over 1000 people in landslide in Sudan

DHAKA, Sept 2, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and ex-MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of more than 1000 people due to landslide in Sudan.

In a condolence message, the Jamaat leader said, “I, on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and on behalf of myself, is expressing sincere sympathy and profound shock to the people of Sudan due to the tragic death of more than 1000 people in a landslide in Tarsin village, located in the Jebel Marra range on the border of Central and South Darfur states.”

“I am praying for eternal peace of the departed soul of the deceased and conveying deep sympathy to their bereaved family members,” Parwar said in the condolence message. “I am also praying to the Almighty for the quick recovery of the injured and their safe rehabilitation,” he added. 

“The death of the huge innocent people due to an accident is also a tragedy for the total human beings,” he said, adding the huge fatalities including the women, men and children and a whole village go under the soil is undoubtedly  a serious sad incident.”

He urged the United Nations, international humanitarian organizations and other humanitarian assistance providing agencies to taken effective measures for rescuing the body of the deceased people and ensure necessary food, treatment and shelter after rescuing the affected people.
