Three held with huge crude bomb making equipment in Faridpur

DHAKA, Nov 12, 2025 (BSS) - The Faridpur district police in a statement today said that the Awami League and its affiliated organizations have been found involved in creating chaos, carrying out destructive activities, and engaging in acts of sabotage through social media. 

With the aim of spreading anarchy, they had reportedly stored petrol bomb-making equipment in an abandoned house belonging to one Titu Sardar in Brahmanpara, Azim Nagar Union, under Bhanga Police Station in Faridpur.

Acting on intelligence, Bhanga police conducted a raid on Wednesday afternoon and arrested three individuals - Md. Hossain Raj, Ahamudul Rashid Rakib, and Jewel Rana- while they were allegedly in the process of making petrol bombs inside the house. 

A large quantity of bomb-making materials was seized from the spot.

The seized equipment includes 19 handmade crude bombs, 17 empty 250ml Pran Juice glass bottles, 28 200ml Pepsi glass bottles, 2 200ml Seven Up glass bottles, 1 200ml Coca-Cola glass bottle, 18 rolls of colored tape, 12 tin cans of Jorda, 235 matchboxes of various companies, 21 string lights of different shapes, 4 sheets of gunpowder, 60 grams of matchbox gunpowder, 1 kg of white stone powder, 2 liters of petrol, 1 knife, and 30 grams of matchbox paper along with torn parts of gunpowder.

The Faridpur District Police have expressed their gratitude to local residents for their cooperation in the operation and have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the district.
